ROSE BAKER

Rose with her husband Pete Baker is a biological mother of 1, adoptive mother of 6, grandmother of over 150, as well as foster parents to over 500 youth. To this day they continue to open their hearts and home to foster care.
Rose has been a foster parent since 1982 and has spent decades seeking education, resources, and techniques to assist children, parents, and social services throughout Humboldt County and the state. She specializes in working with some of the most difficult and intense youth.
Rose specializes in working with abuse, neglect, failed placements, and adoptions, and is passionate about creating a love-based approach to healing and restoration for both children and their families. She collaborates with a range of professionals, from educators to government officials, and her life’s work centers around promoting growth, healing, and prosperity for every youth she encounters.

She has partnered with several leaders in the parenting world, including Foster Cline, a psychiatrist, Jim Fay, Co-founder of Love and Logic Institute, and his son, the psychologist Charles Fay, as well as Nancy Thomas, author of When Love is Not Enough, and Bryan Post, author of The Great Behavior Breakdown and From Fear to Love. Every day, Rose actively works to advocate for the well-being of youth.
